Well, it’s that time of year again. Everyone’s getting sick, and that includes me. I’ve finally had a break in my sneezing that’s lasted long enough for me to start typing, so let’s hope I make it to the end of this thing.
This is undoubtedly my favorite time of year. I love bundling up in scarves and mittens, and watching clouds of cool air puff out in front of me as I take my morning jog. I love popping out of the hot shower in the morning and racing back to my warm bed for that ten more minutes of sleep. And most of all, I look forward to seeing Sam in his earmuffs as we look at the christmas lights at Berryhill Park. This time of year makes me want to watch the movie Beaches, especially the part when Hilary comes to live with CiCi, and they lie in bed at night singing christmas songs as their fiber-optic christmas tree faintly glows from the corner of the room.
And it’s only November!
<> Among other things, I won’t be going home for Thanksgiving, which is a first for me. I will be spending the holiday in Knoxville with Sam’s family, all of whom I love. However, there is something about being in a relationship, this “give and take” that I haven’t quite gotten used to yet. But I’m sure a delightful time will be had by all, even if you can’t wear a tanktop and shorts on Thanksgiving day in Tennessee.
<>Enjoy the weather, and until next time…
